Week 2

We presented our pitch at the beginning of the week and now we are going to implement the following feedback:


  • Less saturated lighting

  • Overall mood and color choices

  • Better references for lighting

  • Overall in class they were encouraging macro camera shots


So the team started gather reference for better lighting, exploring switching up shot composition and using more AI assistance for ideation and shot exploration.

For FX we used a bed sheet and played around with different movements that could be cool cloth effects.


These are some early FX tests for 3D previs






We explored changing shot 4. Removing the cloud engulfing shot and instead having the cloth going over the camera lead the transition. Also explored adding a more intentional camera move to reveal the final bed being laid. This is with the cloth fx before the camera move, that still needs to be updated to match the new camera.

We gathered cloth FX reference from real life playing around with bedsheets.


For next week going to work on locking shots. From there I can finalize preliminary cloth FX with low remesh to get the feel of the animation for the shot and then move forward to getting the right folds and stuff. R&D for threading shot and first pass.


Friday night:

  • 1st pass of threading shot

  • Shot 4 updated 3D vis with new locked camera

Saturday:

  • Slides and video for Week 3


Rest of the team will be working on first pass of look dev for materials on "quilt", lighting first pass, more fx tests, scheduling, etc
